1st Additive Manufacturing in Aerospace Conference

From 1st to 2nd June 2016 at ILA in Berlin

Registration Deadline

Registration is now possible until May 29th. Take the last chance and register now! (expired)

Objective

"Additive Manufacturing in Aerospace (AMA) 2016" is a cutting-edge forum for discussions on additive manufacturing, including its application in industry.

The international conference will bring together researchers, educators and practitioners from around the world and foster an atmosphere conducive to developing new ideas and refining already existing research developments.

The symposium is intended to promote the exchange of experience at international level and support the dialogue between science and industry as well as users and developers. All relevant metal-working methods (laser-based, electron-beam, powder-bed, wire-based, etc.) will be addressed; Representations of modern technological possibilities, trends and challenges as well as real application cases.

Focus

The conference will focus on the latest state of the art as well as on future trends and challenges and their resulting potential economical advantages. Emphasis is placed on relevant metal-working methods such as powder bed or wire-based manufacturing. Benefits of bionic structures and topology optimization resulting from the large degree of design freedom will play an important role as well. To give a broader overview,  the present applications and future potentials of additive manufacturing in other industries will also be demonstrated.

Topics

  • Modern technological trends and challenges
  • Established and emerging technologies
  • Design and optimization for AM
  • Part quality control and material qualification
  • Technological possibilites and potential economical benefits
  • Application cases of aerospace and other industries

Processes: LBM, EBM, SLS, WAAM, Vaccum LBM, …

Organization

The AMA 2016 is organized by the Airbus endowed chair for Integrative Simulation and Engineering of Materials and Processes (ISEMP) of the University of Bremen. The two day conference is hosted by ILA Berlin Air Show.
